Compressibility in suddenly expanded subsonic flows

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper concerns implicit large eddy simulations of subsonic flows through a symmetric suddenly expanded channel. We aim at shedding light on the flow physics relatively high Reynolds number 10 000, based inlet bulk velocity and step height channel, examine compressibility effects for two Mach numbers, Ma = 0.1 0.5. Comparisons with experimental measurements are provided. In addition, we investigate structure separated regions, turbulence structures—through stress anisotropy componentality—and kinetic energy budgets. The results reveal that influences particular physics.

Surprises in the suddenly - expanded infinite well

I study the time-evolution of a particle prepared in the ground state of an infinite well after the latter is suddenly expanded. It turns out that the probability density |Ψ(x, t)|2 shows up quite a surprising behaviour: for definite times, plateaux appear for which |Ψ(x, t)|2 is constant on finite intervals for x. Elements of theoretical explanation are given by analyzing the singular componen...

Stability of Subsonic Jet Flows

An overview of recent experimental results on instability and dynamics of jets at low Reynolds numbers is given. Round and plane, macro and micro jets are under the consideration. Basic features of their evolution affected by initial conditions at the nuzzle outlet and environmental perturbations are demonstrated.

Determination of Dynamic Instability Speed of an Unsweep Wing in Subsonic Flow Including Compressibility Effects

In this paper, the equation of motion of an elastic 2 DoF wing model has been derived using Lagrange's method. The aerodynamic loads on the wing were calculated via the Strip-Theory and the effect of compressibility was included. Wing deflections due to bending and twist motions were determined using the Assume-Mode method. The aeroelastic equations were solved numerically using the V-g method....
